Introduction With the April 2026 update, Windows 11 has evolved from a simple operating system into an AI-orchestrated environment. Whether you are using a standard PC or a new Copilot+ device, these “power user” tips will help you reclaim hours of your week.

1. Master the “Copilot Vision” Shortcut The standout feature of 2026 is Copilot Vision. By pressing Windows Key + C, you can now ask Windows to “look” at what’s on your screen.

  • Use Case: If you are stuck on a complex Photoshop task or a coding error in VS Code, simply say, “Help me finish this,” and Copilot will guide your cursor or suggest the fix in real-time.

2. The New “Narrator + Copilot” Image Description For accessibility and speed, use Narrator Key + Ctrl + D. Windows will now use its multimodal AI to provide a deep, contextual description of any focused image, which is incredibly useful for developers checking UI assets or researchers cataloging photos.

3. Direct Plan Upgrades in Settings Microsoft has finally removed the friction of subscription management. If you are on a Microsoft 365 Family plan, you can now change or upgrade your subscription directly within Settings > Accounts, without ever opening a web browser.

4. 1000Hz+ Monitor Support For gamers, Windows 11 now natively supports refresh rates higher than 1000Hz. If you’ve invested in a 2026 ultra-high-end gaming monitor, ensure you go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display to unlock the full potential of your hardware.

5. Realign the Start Button Still hate the centered taskbar? Right-click the Taskbar > Taskbar Settings > Taskbar Behaviors and change “Taskbar Alignment” to Left. It’s the first thing most veteran users do to restore the classic Windows feel.
